Lara is known for her entrepreneurial spirit, community support and ability to bring people together to achieve collective goals.

As the founder and owner of Café Lara ( 2 locations ) and a Roastery, she has worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and vibrant community hub, contributing to the social and economic fabric that makes Halifax the city it is today.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lara played a crucial role in supporting local businesses. As head of Nova Scotia Small Business Association Lara helped secure agreements between local business and the provincial and federal governments, leading to the introduction of 5 measures to support small businesses during the economic downturn. Proving she knows when to roll up her sleeves. 

As a business owner, Lara understands the value of a dollar and knows that investments made today must pay off or bear fruit in the future. Whether advocating for critical investments in local transportation or more affordable, sustainable housing solutions, Lara is committed to being your trusted voice at City Hall, delivering real solutions for the people of District 9.
